Hats off to Piedmont Council’s Maggie Guggenheimer and Sarah Lawson. In their new office and exhibition space in the CitySpace building overlooking the downtown mall here in Charlottesville, Virginia, they advocate for artists near and far. I first met Sarah last year here at my studio on Highland Avenue. It wasn’t long before I attended an Art Drinks evening at Zocalo, chatted up local klezmer musicians, and raised a glass with new and old friends. A.
